Using the SbAdmCl for McAfee Endpoint Encryption

March 27th, 2009
No comments

My recent posts on McAfee Endpoint Encryption have been tailored to those who might want to programatically include automation into your existing scripts using tools like AutoIt. You can, however, run the exact same commands using SbAdmCl.exe, which comes free with McAfee EE. If you haven’t already created a fileset or manually copied these files over to a client, you can get them from your server. They are:

Problems with WP-Syntax Plugin (GeSHi) with AutoIt

March 24th, 2009

I’ve been having a problem with using the WordPress wp-syntax plugin to highlight my AutoIt code. In a nutshell, it would dump the span tags right onto the page instead of actually styling any of the code.

Online Data Backup Solution Mozy

March 16th, 2009

No matter how often we (the technicians and engineers) shake our heads at our end users or customers who haven’t backed up their most critical data before the hard disk crash, stolen device, or mistaken deletion, I would venture to guess that we’re just as lazy as they are. And what’s worse, is that we should know better; we know how easy it is for hardware to fail without warning, or the new virus to wipe the system without prejudice. Troubleshooting McAfee EE / SafeBoot SSO

I wrote this tip for the McAfee Community back in November 2008 and thought it would be useful to post here. I do not work for McAfee or for SafeBoot and I’m only posting this because I documented it all out when I was having trouble so that I could fix it in the future and thought it might help someone else. I’ve updated the cfQuickDocs plugin to use the proper www.cfQuickDocs.com site. I know there were some issues last time, they should all be resolved now. You may need to remove the previous version if you have it installed. You can use this link to install it.

McAfee EE / SafeBoot AutoIt UDFs

Hi Everyone,

After searching around the McAfee Community and the AutoIt3 Forums, it would seem as though no one has released User Defined Functions for McAfee Endpoint Encryption, so I decided to write some (since I’d need them anyway).
